An age-appropriate objective hearing assessment for children from birth through adolescence. The exact test protocol is selected according to age, symptoms and the findings obtained during the appointment.
Objective methods selected for the child’s age
Assessment may be considered when a child does not respond to sound as expected, speech development is delayed, newborn hearing screening raised a question, recurrent ear infections have occurred, or parents and teachers have concerns about hearing.
OAE and impedance testing do not require an active behavioural response. ABR testing in young children may require quiet rest or natural sleep. Preparation depends on the child’s age and should be confirmed when booking.
What ages is this assessment for?
From birth through age 18. The test protocol is selected according to age and the clinical situation.

Is special preparation required?
Bring previous medical reports or hearing-test results if available and follow any instructions given for the child’s age.
